Judy Cockerton

Judy Cockerton is not your average social entrepreneur. Treehouse Foundation, founded by Cockerton, is an award-winning nonprofit organization that inspires a re-envisioning of foster care. She is a nationally recognized champion of the multigenerational Treehouse Community model, which was launched in Easthampton, MA in 2006 and which is currently being replicated in Boston and Worcester.

In her leadership role at Treehouse, Cockerton invested in foster care, vital aging, and affordable housing innovation. As leader of the ReEnvisioning Foster Care movement, she hosted nine national conferences that highlighted the work of award-winning foster care innovators from around the country. Judy initiated the celebration and recognition of 60 visionary, foster care lived experience leaders who shared their expertise and transformational change-making approaches at conferences and on the INNOVATE! podcast, and who continue to inspire widespread investment in child welfare innovation.

Cockerton was motivated to start 100% Massachusetts by the groundbreaking 100% New Mexico initiative, developed by Dominic Cappello and Dr. Katherine Ortega Courtney. 100% NM builds seamless systems of vital family resources and prevents adverse childhood experiences.

In 2024, she transitioned out of her role as the CEO of the Treehouse Foundation to establish 100% Massachusetts and ensure that all families in the Commonwealth can access the 10 vital services crucial for their overall health, resilience, and success.

We want every family thriving and able to access the 10 vital services they need. Online and in person, all across the state. Starting in Central Mass, the heart of the Commonwealth.

We’re standing with families, community organizations, colleges, and visionary leaders. Together, we’re investing in innovations that will build a stronger, more equitable future. One that shines bright for us all.
